Jan-Joost van Rijsbergen

Before joining Bond Advocaten as a partner in 2020, Jan-Joost spent 17 years as an international finance lawyer at Clifford Chance in Amsterdam and London followed by 3 years at Simmons & Simmons in Amsterdam. Jan-Joost has also been seconded to an international bank, which gave him further insight in the structure of finance transactions as well as the internal processes at banks. Jan-Joost regularly acts for financial institutions as well as for domestic and international borrowers. This makes him keenly aware of the interests of both parties.

Jan-Joost is familiar with almost every form of finance transaction. He frequently acts on complex (structured) finance transactions, with a specific focus on real estate finance. In addition, Jan-Joost has extensive knowledge of the Dutch real estate market and proven expertise in creating optimal security arrangements.

Jan-Joost is known for his excellent market knowledge, good way of negotiating and dealing with opposing counsel and practical, commercial advice in excellent English.
